Special Instructions for Prometrium Use
Some people may have light or severe breakthrough bleeding, which is stopped by lowering the dose of the drug;
If you take it together with estrogens (for example, for HRT), contraindications and warnings which are associated with the intake of estrogens should be taken into consideration;
Before starting HRT, a complete history should be collected. During the treatment it is better to periodically monitor personal tolerability of HRT. Studies involving mammography should be conducted according to the generally accepted screening of patients;
When HRT is carried out, accurate assessment of risks and benefits is determined over time;
Sometimes at the beginning of the treatment there may be breakthrough uterine bleeding. When it happens after a certain period of taking the drug or continues after the treatment, the cause should be studied. Endometrial biopsy should be carried out to exclude malignant alterations in the endometrium;
Thorough clinical examination is required if there is a progesterone-dependent tumor (e.g. meningioma), as well as if it progresses during pregnancy or previous hormonal therapy.
The dose is prescribed by the doctor according to a particular health problem a patient has. If you take it correctly, you will see the result very soon.
