Mycelex-g is an azole antifungal drug, indicated to prevent fungus from growing. It’s often used to treat a number of yeast infections and can also be prescribed for purposes, not mentioned in the article. Clotrimazole is an active ingredient of the drug, which helps to stop the growth and spreading of fungi.

    Patient Safety Information

The medication should be used during the whole prescribed period of treatment. Your symptoms will improve only when the infection is completely cured. Avoid the medicine getting into your eyes, mouth or nose.

Do not wear tight-fitting or synthetic clothes. Instead, opt for loose clothing and natural fabrics. Do not increase or reduce the amount of indicated medicine. Do not take it longer than prescribed.

    Basic Precautions

Do not use the medicine if you are allergic to it. If you are suffering from yeast infection for the first time and want to start treatment with Mycelex-g, it’s better to consult your healthcare specialist. Avoid using medication if you suffer from the following problems:

Insert a pill, cream or suppository into your vagina using an applicator. Continuously use the medicine, even during menstruation. Use a sanitary napkin to prevent the drug from staining the clothes, but do not use a tampon in such a case. If the infection doesn’t disappear after a full course of treatment and you experience complications, you should definitely see your doctor. Clean the infected skin area with soap and dry it before applying the drug. Typically, Mycelex-g is applied 2 times a day during the period of 4 weeks. You’ll be able to notice a significant difference in a month.

It’s recommended to use a condom to avoid infection spreading to your partner. Your doctor may ban using douches and other vaginal creams while being treated with the medication.
